For much of my life, I’ve often had a “blah” demeanor about me.  Feeling rather unmotivated and de-energized (especially in the last couple of years).  To the extent I’ve accomplished things, it’s often been more due to a sense of urgency propelling me forward and causing me to have to reach really deep down and drag out some serious personal power.  Also, I have to deal with personal traits and vices that hold me back, such as inertia and mindless distractions (e.g., YouTube and Cracked.com).

I am planning to do some cleansing work in order to rid myself of some bad habits and negative emotional attachments.  On the other hand, if you’re gonna take something out, then you also have to put something back in.  So, if I get rid of bad habits and attachments, I need to have something better to move forward with.

To that end, I decided to make a mojo bag (in the hoodoo tradition) for personal power and strength.  I could not get a John the Conqueror root on such short notice, but I did get some other nifty herbs (ginger root, ginseng root, cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.) for power, strength, vitality, command, etc.  I got a little bag from the local Tibetan store and herbs from the local hippie organic place.

A couple hours ago, I cleansed, dressed, and oiled some candles; prepared a name paper/petition with personal concerns; prayed to my ancestors; and started stuffing the bag, calling out the purpose of each ingredient.  Then, I spit in the bag, extinguished a lit match inside of it, smoked it with incense (dragon’s blood and patchouli), and fed it with hoodoo condition oils.  Finally, I placed it between the four candles to be charged:

It’s been about a couple hours.  By now, the candles are starting to go out.  Once they’ve all went out, I’ll take the mojo to bed with me, so as to cue it to my energy and train it to do the work that I require.  So mote it be! 😀
